Mort Aux Vaches series



Sublabel created by Staalplaat to release the ongoing series of recordings commissioned by VPRO (Vrijzinnig Protestantse Radio Omroep), a Dutch broadcasting corporation. The name translates literally from French as “Death to Cows,” with “cows” being French slang for German cops - it is equivalent to “Death to Pigs” in English. The slogan originates from the Franco-Prussian WarMost of these recordings were broadcast on one of the Dutch national radio stations (Radio 5) in a show called "De Avonden", more recently also in "Zeldzaam.Dwars".

All releases are limited to at most 1000 copies and come in a typical trifold packaging, with the CD held in place by a copper split-nail. Over the years some special materials were used like foam, plastic, vinyl, copper-foil, tracing paper, sandpaper, etc.

Some artists have released the recordings on their own, like e.g. Sol Invictus on In Europa.

    Hello, it is still possible to get the download link for the 'Mort Aux Vaches' double album with Alva Noto, Signal, Byetone and Komet? Because I can only find this original release on sale at very high prices at the Internet... All the best, Steven from Belgium.
